And it is the same as in serial terminal software. The decoding offers even a table with HEX or DEC format for the bytes received. How is that possible? What mistake do I make? What should I watch? I said to myself that maybe the PC port or the serial terminal software or RS232 TTL to USB has some problems, so I decided to look into details and I analyzed the data at UART port with an oscilloscope that has decoding possibility for RS232. I get the numbers on the screen as HEX between -32768 and +32768, but many are repeated, are identical, the same number each 256 samples, so can be scaled down by dividing with 256 and I get only 8bit resolution.

The data that I see at UART PIC24H is only 8bit resolution the numbers on LSB do not change. If I analyze the provided "PIC_Output.zip" raw data in Audacity then I get 16bit resolution, which is good, what is expected and I am wondering how it was done. The data is on 16bits, so 1 sample is 16bit format which I get, but the resolution that I get is only 8bit and I do not know why. Here are captured data and arranged data, the Excel files are big 10-12MB with 50K-300K rows and graphics, so must be downloaded in PC, cannot be seen easy online: Now comes the bad part, where I am stuck for the moment. This requires some tricks to arrange and concatenate the data because the HEX captured format is on 8bits as RS232 sent it as LSB first and MSB afterwards, but I have done it.

Then I learned how to arrange it on the proper format using a hex editor or/and Notepad++ or Audacity to be able to export it in Excel. I am able to capture the data in raw or HEX format. I used RealTerm and Tera Term terminals among different other terminals. I use a RS232 TTL to USB converter and I see the data on PC. The samples are sent to UART of the PIC at 115200 baud with 8bit, odd parity and 2stop bits. Basically it generates a sine wave with 65536 samples for 1 cycle and 16bit resolution. as we discussed here: I compile the project without errors, then is burned into similar PIC24HJ64GP202 chip and powered up at 3.3Vdc. I setup the MPLABX with your project files and "libq.h" using XC 1.26. I used MPLABX provided project in "PIC24HJ_Start.zip". I want to repeat and follow next example: I struggle to get the data on proper format and worse only with 8bit resolution.
